Barbara had three passions in life, her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, acting and music. Brought up in St Columba's Episcopal Church in Des Moines, WA, she let Jesus into her life in high school. At John Knox Presbyterian Church in Normandy Park, WA she sang the Lord's praises in the choir and directed the annual Christmas program for years. Barbara had may starring roles in plays and musicals including Bye Bye Birdie, Mrs. Benson in The Life and Death of Larry Benson, Cheaper by the Dozen, Lucy in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown, Julie Jordan in Carousel, Maria in West Side Story, Maria in The Sound of Music and Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady.

Her classically trained soprano voice filled many a church. Most recently she led the soprano section in the Northwest Chorale as they performed Mendelssohn's Elijah, Handel's Messiah and Israel in Egypt. She also used her musical knowledge to train dozens of local signers.
