Anthony James Matteo

Anthony "Tony" Matteo, 66, passed away peacefully on the evening of October 10, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Born in Yakima, WA to parents August and Jeannette Matteo on July 14, 1952, Tony was the sixth of seven children. He spent his early years in Portland, OR, moving with his family to Burien, WA in 1962. During his school years at St. Bernadette and Kennedy High, he met many of his lifelong friends. He graduated from the UW and was a proud Husky to the end. He never gave up on the Mariners and planned many family Mariner outings. Tony had a successful career at Food Services of America, retiring in 2017. He lived in W. Seattle all his adult life where he endeared himself to neighbors. Tony left behind his loving family, son Niccolo, sisters Judy Lewis (Jerry), Linda Bianchi (Dick), and brothers, Mike (Geri), Dennis (Teresa) and sister-in-law, Joanne Matteo. He was preceded in death by his parents, Augie and Jean and his brothers John and Lee. He also leaves behind 47 loving nieces and nephews, numerous friends and colleagues. Tony had a personality that filled a room with love and smiles. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Funeral Mass for Tony will be
