Antje Silvia Danielson

Antje Danielson passed away peacefully on September 3, 2018 at UW Medical Center after a brief but courageous struggle against acute myeloid leukemia. Her family was at her side when she passed.

Antje was born in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1964 to Wolfgang and Anneliese Stephan. She spent much of her childhood and early adulthood in Heidelberg, Germany where she met the love of her life, Tom Danielson, in the spring of 1986. There was instant chemistry and the two were married on July 5, 1987 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin. To this union a son, Alex, was born. The family moved frequently for work but has made Washington or British Columbia their home since 2003. They lived in Kent from 2003-2013 and were living in Mount Vernon, WA at the time of her passing.

Antje was a strong, artistic, adventurous, and inquisitive woman who had a great love of nature. She was particularly fond of all of the worlds furry and feathered creatures and loved her profession as a dog walker. She was a largely self-taught antique clock restorer, organic soap maker, photographer, and all around craftswoman. She was an avid traveler and enjoyed several trips of a lifetime to include trips to Southeast Asia, South America, and southern Africa. Above all, she was a kind and thoughtful individual who was loved by many and will be sorely missed.

Antje was proud to be the first person in her family to get a degree when she received her Associate of Arts and Sciences from Whatcom Community College.

Antje is survived by her husband Tom Danielson, son Alex Danielson, stepdaughter Melissa (Matt) Briggs, step grandson Weston Briggs, mother Anneliese Peltz, father-in-law Jerry Danielson, sister Fraulke Stephan, brother Frank Stephan, and sister-in-law Donna (Bruce) McIntyre. She is preceded in death by her father Wolfgang Stephan and mother-in-law Karen Danielson.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at the UW Medical Center Oncology ICU (6SA) for their compassion and professionalism while Antje was in their care.

In accordance with Antje's wishes there will be no services. To honor Antje's life and interests, please consider contributions to animal welfare organizations.
