Calvin Nils Youngberg was born November 2, 1926, at home in Murray, to Herman and Amelia Youngberg. He passed away October 24, 2018.
After graduating from Murray High School, Cal joined the Navy. In 1949, he married Shirley Ruesch, who he said, "was the most beautiful woman in the world." They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. He was a stonecutter for This is the Place Monument, and the gates at The Hogle Zoo. He worked 32 years as a welder for Gallagher Company. Cal enjoyed hunting and fishing. Preceded in death by his wife; parents; sisters, Alice Juretich and Esther Cleland; brothers, Eric and Carl Youngberg; son, Ronald; and grandson, Jason Hanson. He is survived by his daughters, Vickie (Scott) Reading, Joan (Gary) Hanson and Pam (Duane) Bingham; 10 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
A viewing will be held Sunday, October 28, 2018, from 6-8 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 S. State, Murray. Services will be Monday, October 29, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Germania Ward building, 464 W. Germania Ave., Murray, with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Murray City Cemetery.
