Born to Lena Cornelia Van Seters and Walter Edward Hirschi in Salt Lake City, Utah. Married Max L. Richards, 15 June 1946. Marriage solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple 16 March 1965. Daughter, Rebecca Goodwin (Steven) both deceased, son, Edward Richards (deceased) and son Byron Richards (Karla). Grandchildren, Peter Goodwin, Nikea Webster (David), Jenna Richards, Rees Richards. Great grandchildren, Morgan Webster, Kade Webster, Kenia Webster, Oakley Webster, Brandon Richards and Evan Richards. Barbara was raised on a homestead near Montpelier, Idaho until she was six. She lived in a log cabin with no electricity or running water. She loved living near her Hirschi grandparents. When she was six the family moved to Salt Lake City. She knew all too well how difficult it was to live through the great depression. She married Max just as he was returning from World War II. Barbara was always curious and made it her goal to learn something new every day. She was a very talented artist. Her paintings and sketches adorn many homes in the area. Barbara was a prolific journal keeper. She was always an active member of the LDS church. She loved teaching in Primary and Sunday School and serving in the Relief Society. She did indeed display her talents and has strengthened and given joy and comfort to many. Her final wish was to donate her body to the University of Utah Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Children's Hospital or the Utah Food Bank. The family would like to thank Comfort Worx Hospice for the tender, loving care received not only by Barbara but by her family.
