Annalou Brownhill
1929-2018
Annalou Brownhill, 89, was called home on Sunday. A native Houstonian, Anna loved her family, all animals, and her Red Sox – in that order. Anna met the love of her life, Bobby, at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church in Garden Villas at age 12. After working for Gulf Oil and the Boston Red Sox while putting Bobby through medical school, they were blessed with four children. Anna was a loving mother, a Girl Scout assistant leader, and the neighborhood's mom. Kids came from all over to talk to her, because of the compassion and understanding that she so readily shared. She was loved by all and truly will be missed. Anna is preceded in death by her loving husband, Bobby, and her mother and father. She is survived by her loving family that includes 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, all of whom she was immensely proud: daughter, Robbi Hull, and granddaughters Ashlee and Heather; son, Scott Brownhill, his wife Chris, and grandchildren Scott, Jacy, and James; daughter Chaille Turner, her husband Chris, and grandson Sean; daughter, Cara Applewhite, her husband Jeff, and granddaughters Hayley, Lauren and Rachel, and great grandson, Hayes. The family would like to thank Maria "Soco" Akroosh for the loving care she provided these past years. A Graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at Hollywood Cemetery, 3506 N. Main Street, Houston, Texas 77009. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made in Anna's memory to AGE of Central Texas, 3710 Cedar Street, Box 2, Austin, TX 78705.
