TAYLOR, Annie Jo (Ann) Hollon Annie Jo (Ann) Hollon Taylor departed this life on August 5th, 2018. She led a beloved, upstanding, and long life under difficult circumstances. After the untimely death in 1973 of her husband of 25 years, Earl Lee Taylor, Jr. , she took on the challenge of raising and supporting her sons, including two still at home in Oak Cliff. Born in 1924 in Klondike, Texas, she moved to Dallas during WWII, working at Dun & Bradstreet and marrying in 1947. She was active in school activities for the PTA and with groups for the spouses of teachers and principals, volunteered for the House of Christian Services in West Dallas, and served on the board of Hope Cottage. After her husband's death, she worked at Hulcy Middle School, Mountain View College, Pickle Architects (14 years), TMBP Engineering, and JDP Library Services. Her interests included genealogy, music, poetry, reading, and traveling, and she was a long-time member of Edgefield Church of Christ. Survived by sons Earl Lee (wife Roberta) and Timothy (Nancy), daughter-in-law Sally Merritt, sister Eugenia Ratcliff (Ken), brother Ron Hollon (Maribeth), sister-in-law Betty Hollon, grandkids Diana Taylor and Everett Earl Taylor, and numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew Edwin Earl Hollon, Jr. She was recently predeceased by sons Ben and John, sister Mary Ogden (Jack), and good friend Tom Duvall, and earlier by her parents, Walter and Eva May Hollon, and bothers Edwin Earl, Sr., Grover, and WD. Family service Wednesday at Laurel Land. Memorial donations can be made in her name to Faith Presbyterian Hospice, faithpreshospice.org. And in a memo she prepared for this obituary, she noted that on her 70th birthday, she rode an elephant.
