HICKS, Betty Joyce Betty Joyce Knowlton Hicks was born October 24, 1936 and departed this world August 11, 2018 at the age of 81. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Blanche Knowlton; husband, Truman Hicks and sister, Ernestine Hicks. She is survived by her daughter, Jackie Ealy, brothers and sisters-in-law: Troy and Letha Knowlton and Tommy and Margaret Knowlton and many nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her extended family, as well as, a group of friends she thought of as family. Joyce worked as an office manager for Bayles Elementary in Dallas ISD during the 70s until she retired in 2005. She touched many lives of children, parents and school staff. Joyce was an Honorary Member of Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Joyce's smile, kindness, laughter and enthusiasm will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 4:30 to 8:00pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 10:00am at Grove Hill Funeral Home with a luncheon to follow.
