GILLES, Bonnie Lou Wainscott Bonnie Lou Wainscott Gilles, 90, of Dallas, Texas, passed away on August 16, 2018 in Dallas. Bonnie was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa to Hollis and Lucille Wainscott on August 6, 1928. She graduated from High School in Douds, Iowa and attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa for two years. She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from The University of Iowa in 1951. Bonnie worked as an Elementary Art Teacher in the Des Moines, Iowa Public Schools for five years. She married Theodore C. Gilles on August 26, 1956 and lived in Iowa and California before moving to Dallas, Texas in 1978. Bonnie volunteered for the Network of Community Ministries for many years and taught English as a Second Language classes to families. She enjoyed painting and created her own Christmas cards for over 20 years based on her paintings of churches she visited around the world. She was a member of Highland Park United Methodist Church. Bonnie is preceded in death by her mother and father, Hollis and Lucille Wainscott. She is survived by her husband, Ted Gilles of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Carol Gilles Brickell of Dallas, Texas; Granddaughters, Annie Raine and Sharon Brickell Nissen, and four great-grandchildren: Clare Ana Nissen, Robert Joel Nissen, Levi Alexander Raine, and Owen Richard Raine. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Jim Wainscott of Fresno, California; and two nephews, David and Bruce Wainscott, of Fresno, California. A Memorial Service will be held at the Edgemere Retirement Community at 8523 Thackery Street, Dallas, Texas 75225 on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Network of Community Ministries, 741 S. Sherman Street, Richardson, Texas 75081.
