Barrie Griffinger Straussberg
Beloved family member
Barrie Griffinger Straussberg, 86, of West Orange, N.J., passed away on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018.
Born and raised in West Orange, N.J., Barrie graduated from Syracuse University. She married Dr. Arthur Straussberg in June 1954 and their love story lasted over 60 years.
She was an active member of the community, giving her passion and time to organizations such as CAP (Child Abuse Prevention), Hospice and the NCJW Back to School Store. She was an avid golfer, canasta and mah jong player and loyal friend to legions of people across many generations.
She leaves behind her beloved family: her children, Susan (Terry) Baxter, Marc (Sharon) Straussberg; her brother, Michael (Jane) Griffinger; and her adored grandchildren, Jake, Griffin, Daniel and Max.
Funeral services will be held Nov. 14 at 11:30 a.m. at Bernheim Apter Kreitzman Suburban Funeral Chapel, 68 Old Short Hills Rd, Livingston, N.J.
