WWII Army veteran and lifelong Rahway resident, 94
Angelo Servedio, 94, of Rahway, N.J., passed away on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018, at home.
Services will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 24, at 9 a.m., at the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home, 371 West Milton Ave., Rahway, followed by a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Rahway. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Clark, N.J. Visiting will be on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Born in Elizabeth, N.J., Angelo came to Rahway in 1926 and graduated from Rahway High School in 1942.
He was employed by Quinn and Boden, Rahway, where he met his beloved wife of 58 years, Josephine (Miele).
Angelo was a World War II U.S. Army veteran, serving as crew chief overseeing the B-17s that were used in training our troops.
Later he was employed for 27 years by Joe Servedio and Sons, Inc., Rahway, with his father and two brothers, before retiring in 1987.
He was a communicant of St. Mary's R.C. Church in Rahway, where he served as past president of the Holy Name Society. He was also a member of the Rahway Retired Men's Club.
Angelo, along with his brothers and sisters, were members of the last Greatest Generation.
Mr. Servedio was predeceased by his beloved wife, Josephine, in 2006. Surviving are his children, Robert (Cecelia), Joseph (Theresa), Michael (Maryann), Anthony (Fran), and a sister, Margaret Danko. He was also loved by eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
