Attorney, Rutgers football fan, was proud grandfather of seven
Joel Charles Rinsky, 80, of Livingston, N.J., died Jan. 9, 2019. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and raised in Newark, N.J.
Mr. Rinsky moved to Short Hills, N.J., with his beloved wife of 55 years, Judith (nee Lynn), where they raised their children, Heidi Schnapp (Rob), Heather Maxon (Lee) and Jason (Rosy). Mr. Rinsky's proudest accomplishments were being the father to his children and the grandfather to his seven grandchildren, Zachary, Valerie, Kelsey, Samuel, Kyle, Jake and Bodie.
Mr. Rinsky graduated from Weequahic High School (Jan. '56), Rutgers University and Rutgers Law School in Newark. He was admitted to the practice of law in the State of New Jersey, where he was a civil trial attorney for many years. Mr. Rinsky was also a Fellow of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. He spent his career in private practice in both Newark and Livingston.
Mr. Rinsky's favorite pastimes included watching Rutgers football games and eating deli with his grandsons and taking his granddaughters out for ice cream. He and Judy were happy relaxing at their vacation home in Lake Naomi, visiting their time share in different locations, cruising around the world or just going to the movies; as long as they were together.
Donations may be made in his memory to the Lippman Center at the J.C.C. of Metrowest.
