Benjamin W. Percario of Berkeley Heights, N.J., passed away on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, at the age of 79.
The visitation will be held at Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial, 646 Springfield Ave., Berkeley Heights, on Monday, Nov. 26, from 4 to 8 p.m. The funeral will begin in the funeral home on Tuesday, Nov. 27, at 9 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Church of the Little Flower, 310 Plainfield Ave., Berkeley Heights. Benjamin was born in Summit, to the late Adelio and Claudina Percario and resided in Summit until moving to Berkeley Heights in 1959.
He was employed by PSE&G for 37 years, retiring as a manager in 1995. Benjamin had also served as union president of the Utility Co-Workers Assoc. in Newark. Upon retiring from PSE&G, Benjamin worked as a business consultant and in 1995 he formed and was a partner in PS Business Services, LLC in Berkeley Heights, until retiring in 2006.
Benjamin was an avid bowler, however, his greatest passion was for his family. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Catherine (nee Boffo); his loving children, William (Karin), Michael, Robert, and Benjamin Jr., Percario and daughter, Patricia (Thomas) Wapelhorst; cherished grandchildren, Domenic, Kimberly, Larissa, Samantha, Kristy, and Hailie, and great-granddaughter, Isabella; his dear brother, Luke (Mary) Percario, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Benjamin was also predeceased by his brothers, Nunzio, Louis, Arthur, and David Percario.
