Dedicated and compassionate nurse, lived in New Providence
Abigail Pelia, R.N., B.S.N., 46, passed away on Nov. 15 2018, in her apartment in New Providence, N.J.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Piscataway Funeral Home, 18 Stelton Rd., Piscataway, N.J.. from 4 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home
Abigail followed in the footsteps of her deceased mother, Estella Pelia R.N., B.S.N, along with Abby's deceased father, Alfredo Pelia Sr.
She earned her degree from the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA in Manila - Las Pinas, Philippines.
Her incomparable compassion and tremendous dedication was molded from Florence Nightingale. It was displayed in HCR ManorCare as a director of care (New Providence) and delivery and behavioral health in Denville, N.J.
She is survived by her two brothers, Eric and his wife, Mahalia, of Piscataway, N.J., Alfredo Pelia Jr. and his wife, Caren Pelia, of Bethlehem, Pa.; her uncles, Roberto Pelia and his wife, Lynn, of the Philippines, Angelito Pelia of the Philippines; her aunt, Florencia Pelia of Alaska; her nephews, Miguel and Alfredo III, and her nieces Gabriel and Alfiona.
Abby's inspirations, goals, integrity, and abilities will be continued by the same people who hold the same virtues - her close friends and colleagues.
Thank you for the quality time that you have spent with us. It teaches all of us how precious life is and how almighty God can show it in the least amount of time.
We'll miss you.
