Nursery school teacher for 25 years, enjoyed time with family
Anne V. (nee Molinari) O'Connor, 94, of Manchester Twp., N.J., passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018. Born in Newark, N.J., Mrs. O'Connor resided in Waldwick, N.J., for 20 years before retiring to the Leisure Knoll community in Manchester Twp. for the last 32 years.
One of Anne's first jobs was at the Ballantine Brewery down neck in Newark. She enjoyed working in the "Chemistry Lab" as a beer taster. Anne loved children and spent 25 years as a teacher at the Crescent Day Nursery School in Waldwick. She was proud of her Italian heritage, but still maintained her membership in the Jersey Shore Irish American Club after her husband's passing. Anne was active at Leisure Knoll and enjoyed many trips to Atlantic City with her friends. She also played the organ as a member of the Leisure Knoll Organ Club and had fun with her friends in the Red Hat Society.
"Aunt Boobie," as she was affectionately known, was blessed to be able to spend time with her family, especially her grandson and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles R. O'Connor in 2007, and her seven siblings, Mary Tirico, Christina Casiere, Josephine Rosania, Frances Molinari, Morris Molinari, Albert Molinari, and Joseph Molinari.
Survivors include: her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Charlene O'Connor of Nutley, N.J.; her dear grandson, Michael O'Connor and his wife, Kristy, and her two loving great-grandchildren, Charles John (CJ) and Carina Anne O'Connor.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Bizub-Quinlan Funeral Home, 1313 Van Houten Ave., Clifton, N.J. Burial will be private at the Brig. Gen. William C. Doyle NJ Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown, N.J. Please visit www.bizub.com for driving directions and online condolences.
