Anthony Martin, 94, of Union, N.J., passed away on Nov. 26, 2018.
A memorial visitation will be held at the Galante Funeral Home, 2800 Morris Ave., Union, on Friday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church in Maplewood, N.J., at 12 noon.
Anthony was the husband of Elvira (nee Adamo), father of Steven (wife, Frances); James (wife, Eileen), and Francine and her late husband, Robert Brittman. He was the brother of the late William, Edward, and Ruth Hedenburg; grandfather of Steven, Richard Christopher, Jason and Kimberly, and great-grandfather of eight.
Anthony was born in Harrison, N.J., and lived most of his life in Union. He worked for Figure Builder in Union as a foreman for 22 years, then for Excel Sheep & Leather in Linden, N.J., as a foreman for seven years before his retirement.
Anthony was a sharpshooter with the Marines during World War II. He was the recipient of two Purple Hearts while he served in the Pacific Theater as a Marine corporal.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the , P. O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45250-0301, in his name are preferred.
