Barbara (Bobbie) Giacalone, 86, formerly of Bloomfield, N.J., died on Oct. 8, 2018.
Relatives and friends are invited for visitation on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Shook-Farmer Funeral Home, 45 Roseland Ave., Roseland, N.J. 07068.
A funeral ceremony will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, N.J. Condolences and memories may be shared at shookfarmer.com.
Born and raised in Newark, N.J., Barbara continued to reside there until moving to Bloomfield in 1986. She worked as a clerk for the Newark school system for many years. Prior to her retirement, she was a legal secretary for Hetchka, Bachman, & Paganelli Law Firm in Clifton, N.J. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy's Church in Newark and was devout to St. Gerard. In her spare time, she was a member of the Belleville Tuesday Senior Club.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Leonard Giacalone.
Surviving are her beloved daughters, Gale Tursini and her husband, Gary, and Lynn Mele and her husband, John; cherished grandchildren, Jamie Matarazzo and her husband, Michael, Michael Dalton, and Alexa Ferraro and her husband, Drew; loving great-grandsons, Lennon and Hudson Matarazzo; and caring sister, Rose Marie Iannuzzi.
