Died peacefully, surrounded by family on November 14, 2018, at the age of 88. A humble, generous, hard-working German immigrant, who together with his wife of 57 years chiseled out a good life for his family of six in the St. Benedict neighborhood of Chicago. He was a member of the Chicago Regional Council of Carpenters, and the U.B.C. for over 50 years. He is survived by his wife Trudy, children Caroline (Jack), Bernard, Christian (Susan), Stephen; eight grandchildren; and sister Christine. Private services and burial will be held in WI.
