Alexander Robert Pegler, age 24, passed away unexpectedly on October 21, 2018 at his home in Chicago. Alex was born July 15, 1994 in Chicago, attended Francis Xavier Ward and was a graduate of New Trier High School. Alex was one of the captains during the 2013 hockey season that took New Trier to the State Championship. Alex attended University of Arizona and was a member of the Delta Chi fraternity. Over the last few months, Alex was coaching the New Trier hockey team inspiring players and sharing his love of the game. He was a wonderful mentor and motivator for many young hockey players who respected his leadership and team spirit. Alex is survived by his mother, Peggy; father, Westbrook, his older brother Jack, and his older sister Tabby. A member of an extended and loving family, Alex is also survived by 13 aunts and uncles, 31 first cousins, and his nephew Dylan and niece Mia. Alex will be remembered for the twinkle in his eye, his charisma, his kindness and his love of his family and friends.
