CONSTANCE O'LEARY WATSON
Beloved wife of the late John Monro Watson, loving mother to Paige Watson O'Connor (Steve), and devoted Mimi to Erin Marley O'Connor, passed away on July 29, 2018. She also leaves behind dearest cousins Virginia Hahn, Michael Davies, and Donald Morgan.  In addition to her sparkling blue eyes and striking white hair, Coni, as she was known to all, will be remembered fondly for her humor, intelligence, warmth, loyalty, kindness, and glamorous personal style.  An avid tennis player, Coni was a fierce and enthusiastic competitor who captained the women's tennis team at Bethesda Country Club and won countless club championships over the years. A technical writer and editor by profession, Coni loved words and devoured books, newspapers, and crossword puzzles. Most evenings, Coni could be found with a novel in one hand, a glass of wine in the other, and the television tuned to the tennis channel.  Coni was also passionate about equal rights. An early and ardent volunteer and supporter of the Virginia Slims Tennis Circuit, Coni championed the movement for equal pay for female tennis players. Never shy to share her political opinions or march for causes close to her heart, Coni passed on her passion for social justice to her daughter and granddaughter.  To celebrate Coni's life, a private reception for family and friends is being planned. If you wish to honor Coni, please vote against hate and bigotry, and for the rights of women, children, and the most vulnerable members of our society.
