Beatrice DIMARCO Reddy, m.d.  
Passed peacefully in her sleep on April 22, 2018 at Knollwood retirement home in Washington, DC with her two daughters, Barbara Hoar and Dina Malone, by her side. She was 101 years old.She was born October 21, 1916 in New York City. She attended Hunter College and Flower Fifth Avenue Medical School in the city. She later started a residency in anesthesia at Georgetown Hospital and completed it at DC General Hospital in Washington, DC. She was part of a group of residents that left Georgetown Hospital after a dispute with the administration. She opened the Department of Anesthesia at Anne Arundel General Hospital Annapolis, MD in the early 50s. She later practiced anesthesia at Jefferson Medical Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.She was married to Captain John Reddy, M.D. USN, who she met in medical school. They were married from 1943 until his death in 1981. She will be buried beside her husband on August 28, 2018 at noon in Arlington National Cemetery. She is survived by two daughters, Barbara Hoar (partner, David Horne) and Dina Malone (husband, Tom); four grandchildren, Brendan Hoar (wife, Erin), Patrick Hoar (wife, Margaux), Mathew Malone (wife, Evi), and Christine Malone; six great-grandchildren, Evelyn Hoar, Lana Hoar, Rowland Hoar, Athena Malone, Thomas Malone, and George Malone. Donations, in lieu of flowers, can be sent to Knollwood Retirement Home in Washington, DC where Beatrice lived happily from 2000-2018.
