BARBARA PETERSON  
Barbara Peterson passed peacefully on January 19, 2019 in Annapolis, MD. Mother of Dr. Robert Peterson (Terry), Dr. Donald Peterson (Bina), Ann Marie Willard (Billy) and James Peterson (Leslie). Barbara is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her parents, loving husband Bernard, and siblings Antoinette Frederick, Marguerite Fowler, Betty DePoy and Earl DePoy. Barbara was born in Great Neck, New York on June 4, 1923 to Arthur and Estelle DePoy. During the depression, she moved to Peoria, Illinois, where she attended school, and later met her husband. Barbara and Bernard were married following his service in the Navy. Upon relocating to the Washington D.C. area in 1955, Barbara's life was devoted to raising her family. She was Bernard's sole caregiver for the last 27 years of his life. As she provided home care for Bernard, her patience, love and dedication displayed an example to all she knew. The family will receive friends and family on January 23, 2019 at 10:15 a.m. at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, 14139 Seneca Road, Darnestown, Md. Funeral Mass to follow at 11 a.m. and interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, Md. immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Barbara's name to: Parkinson Foundation of the National Capital Area, 8830 Cameron Street # 201, Silver Spring, Md. 20910.
