ALAN LOWELL PETERS
Alan Lowell Peters was just 52 when he died suddenly on September 13, 2016. In life he was kind, generous, and always independent. He wasn't scared to skewer a few sacred cows to say what he believed, or just thought was funny at the time. Born a Cincinnati Reds Fan (in Cincinnati, November 1, 1963), as a teen his family moved from Moorestown, NJ to the DC area. Since the day he graduated from the University of Michigan, he worked for himself, employing others and helping many along the way. His first business was DC Documents. He was a part of the DC punk scene and the First Friday Art nights. He loved all the fun sports, and he was pretty good. He was a natural teacher and could spend hours teaching a kid to throw a football, get up on a wind surfer, or do tricks on a skateboard, usually while imparting a good dose of his own idiosyncratic world view. It always made an impression. He left behind his mother Peggy Peters, sisters Dana Peters Manley and Susanna Peters Wallace, and his much loved wife Angie-and many who miss him greatly. He is buried in Parklawn Cemetery, in Rockville.
