On January 5, 2019, Bernard Harry Merritt, Sr. Passed away surrounded by family. He was born on May 5, 1935 in Washington, DC to Bernard W. Merritt and Ethel Mae Merritt (Casseen).He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Katherine Grace Merritt (Bianco), sister, PatriciaLogan (husband Jim),son Bernie Jr., (wife, Nancy), son, Mark, and two granddaughters, Caitlin Wilson (husband, Pat), Casey Merritt, and several nieces and nephews. Bernie was predeceased by his sister, Shirley Mae Merritt and his parents.The memorial service will be held on January 19, 2019 at 11 a.m. at Lake of the Woods Church One Church Lane Locust Grove, VA with a luncheon following at the Lake of the Woods Clubhouse, 102 Lakeview Parkway in Locust Grove VA. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to be made in Bernie's name at the or the Lake of the Woods Church.
