Alan F. Grip   (Age 82)  
Passed away on December 12, 2018 in Frederick, Maryland. Born to Martha and Eric Grip in Passaic, NJ. Brother of the late Donna Hickman. Graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Communications. Alan served in the US Army in New York City before moving to Washington, DC where he worked as a radio and tv news reporter for WTOP, served as Special Assistant to City Council Chair Sterling Tucker, as Communications Director and Press Secretary for Mayor Marion Barry and as Assistant General Manager for the Washington Convention Center. He relocated to the south Jersey Shore in 1990 where he worked as Vice President of Public Affairs and Marketing for then Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital, wrote for the Gazette newspapers and assisted State Senator Jeff Van Drew. An avid tennis player, auteur of home movie-making and lifelong Yankees fan. Survived by three sons. Memorial service at Stone Harbor, New Jersey at later date.
