Annette WaltOur vibrant beloved friend Annette Walt died peacefully on August 27 from Cardiomyopathy, at age 72. She was laid to rest at Gan Shalom, Briones. Born to Miriam & Sydney Walt in Capetown, she is survived by sister Yda, brothers Brian & Harold, a large extended family, and a group of caring friends. She lived in three continents: South Africa, Israel and Berkeley.
Annette taught English & Judaic Studies in Israel and the East Bay. In midlife she retrained as a therapist, specializing in treating children, adolescents, and families, targeting the underserved. Creating art was her passion, focusing on brilliant textiles. Her home showcased her own art and works from South Africa and Israel, exhibited so you delighted upon entering. Annette's special gift in her personal and professional life was the intense caring she showed to her friends and clients. Annette's life defined the word generosity.
