Daniel Francis "Dan" TwomeyJune 19, 1956 ~ November 3, 2018Daniel Francis "Dan" Twomey, age 62 passed away November 3, 2018 at his home in Redwood City following a year-long battle with cancer. A native of Redwood City, Dan was proud to be a Palo Alto fire fighter for over 25 years, dedicated to serving Palo Alto and especially the Stanford Community. He loved time with family and friends, especially going to Spring Training for over 20 years. Dan is survived by his loving mother Cecile Twomey, sister Patty Schwehr, brother-in-law Ed Schwehr, niece Megan, and nephews Trevor and Devin. Dan is also survived by his loving partner Lorraine Donato who provided Dan with amazing care and support through his illness. Dan was preceded in death by his father Timothy Twomey, sister Mary Twomey and loyal golden retriever, TJ.


Friends may visit on Thursday, November 8, from 5-9pm with a Vigil Service at 7pm at Crippen & Flynn Woodside Chapel, 400 Woodside Road, Redwood City. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, November 9, at 10:30am at St. Pius Catholic Church, 1100 Woodside Road, Redwood City followed by reception. Burial at 2:30pm at Holy Cross cemetery in Colma. Donations to Stanford Cancer Research and/or The MS Society are appreciated by the family in Dan's memory.
