Candace K. Tom

Faleceu

Candace Kay Low TomCandace (Candy) Kay Low Tom passed away peacefully at home Friday, November 2, 2018 after her second battle with Ovarian Cancer. Her 60 beautiful years of life were vibrant with joy, optimism, purpose, and grace, even through her hardest times.

Born in Stockton on June 2, 1958, Candy was the youngest of four children to Dr. Leslie Y. and Cora M. Low.

Candy met Randy Tom while working in the textile and garment industry. They married on April 2, 1988 in San Francisco's Stern Grove. Candy spent many years working in education, and later as an office manager at a non-profit organization.

A hardworking and generous wife, mother, and daughter, Candy was always involved in some activity or community group, like learning Chinese medicinal cooking or making Japanese Washi dolls. She spent a lot of time perfecting greeting cards to send to loved ones for birthdays, holidays, and "just because." When it came to baseball and her Giants team (Hunter Pence was her favorite player), she was perhaps the sweetest, most PG-rated trash-talker in the game! Wherever she went, whatever she was doing, one thing was always constant: she was very loved and respected by those who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Candy's spirit and legacy lives on in her husband and their two children Bryan and Caitlin. She is also survived by siblings Randall Low and Catherine Doo and their families, brother-in-law Steve Emling and his family, and many cousins and friends.

Candy joins her parents and sister Carol Emling in heaven, where she now rests in peace. Her ashes will be scattered per her wishes.
