October 17, 1926 - September 29, 2018 Our beloved Mother lived life to the fullest for 91 years. She was born in Hollywood, California, and lived most of her life in the Los Angeles area. She resided in Torrance for the last 47 years and worked at the City of Torrance in the City Manager's Office for many years. She attended Hamilton High School and UCLA where she met her husband of 46 years, Duane Turner. She was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority at UCLA, very active in the alumnae club and recently received her 75-year Diamond Arrow pin. She belonged to Peninsula East Social Club for 22 years. She was an avid reader, and enjoyed tutoring school children in reading. She liked playing bridge, attending plays, concerts, social activities and traveling. Mother is survived by her brother, Clifford Hanson, four sons, Jeff, Scott, Mitch, Russ Turner and daughter, Donna Shockley; seven grandchildren, four great-grandsons, cousins, nieces and nephews.
