Anne S. Dillman, 93, of Edison, N.J., passed peacefully on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2018, at the N.J. Veterans Home in Edison.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Flynn and Son Funeral Home, 23 Ford Ave., Fords, N.J. 08863. A funeral Liturgy will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 28, 2018, at 10 a.m., at St. Stephen R.C. Church, of St. John Paul II Parish, 490 State St. Perth Amboy, N.J. 08861. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Hopelawn, N.J.
Anne was born in New York City, and was a former resident of Perth Amboy, N.J.
She was a graduate of Perth Amboy High School, and attended Mary Washington College in Virgnia.
She was formerly employed as a bookkeeper in New York City, and for the Shell Oil Co.
She had been very active in education, including being a founding member of the Perth Amboy PTA, serving as a member and former president the Perth Amboy Board of Education and the N.J. State Board of Education, and was also a member of the N.J. State Board of Higher Education.
She was very active with and was past president of the Perth Amboy Women's Club and served in a charitable role with the Ladies Auxiliary of the Raritan Bay Medical Center in Perth Amboy. Anne enjoyed being with people and was very passionate about education.
Mrs. Dillman was predeceased by her beloved husband of 66 years, George Dillman, who died in 2015, and her daughter, Geo-Anne Dillman, who died in 2016.
She leaves behind her beloved son, Peter Dillman and his wife, Mary, of Flemington, N.J.; two grandchildren, Laura and Eric, and a sister-in-law, Marie Dillman of Perth Amboy.
