Alvin Elmore Courtney, Sr.  
On Sunday, November 4, 2018, Alvin E. Courtney, Sr. entered into eternal rest. He was the son of Lewis and Katie Courtney and was born in Louisa, VA on July 3, 1937. He is survived by his wife Sherry Courtney; three sons, Alvin Jr., Micheal and Jayman; two daughters Brooke and Tia; 11 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. We will celebrate his life on Thursday, November 15, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at J.B. Jenkins Funeral Home, 7474 Landover Rd., Landover, MD 20785. Homegoing services will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 from 12 Noon to 3 p.m. at Mt. Gillium Baptist Church, 4641 Chaulklevel Rd., Louisa, VA 23093.
