Carroll D. Cameron passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 in Miami, Florida, at age 77. She was born to John and Eva Dunham in Miami, on October 31, 1940, the fourth eldest of six children. She was predeceased by her husband Billy Cameron, siblings Patricia Dunham Donn, Mae Dunham Eddleman, John Ronald Dunham, Donald George Dunham, and is survived by her daughter Ayme Cameron (Sebastian Fitzgerald), sister Gale Gerard, brother-in-law Dr. Robert Eddleman from West Palm Beach, sister-in-law Margie Dunham of Midlithian, Virginia, and many loving nieces and nephews. Carroll grew up in Miami attending Miami Edison High School. After graduating she attended University of Tennessee where she received her Bachelor of Science and certificate in Dental Hygiene. While practicing dental hygiene she attended the University of Miami and received her Masters in English, later graduated from Nova University with her Doctorate in Health Education. Carroll taught at the Miami Dade College Dental Hygiene Program where she mentored many hygienists through their education. She founded the Home Study Educators continuing education company, providing continuing education courses and credits for medical and dental professionals. Carroll was a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association, Florida Dental Hygiene Association and the South Florida District Dental Hygiene Association, holding many leadership roles. She was an active member of Grace Methodist Church and Kendall Methodist Church in Pinecrest. Carroll was proud of her Irish ethnicity becoming a loyal member and a past President of the South Florida Emerald Society. Though distinguished for her brilliance and leadership, above all, Carroll will always be remembered for her wholesome and kind soul. Carroll would uplift anyone in time of need and had a positive influence in the life of many, living her life as an exemplary Christian woman. Though she is no longer on this earth, the memory of her remarkable spirit and our love for her will be everlasting. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 13, 2018, Kendall Methodist Church, 7600 SW 104 Street, Miami, Florida 33156 at 11:30 AM.
