Anna Marie JonesOctober 26, 1935-October 26, 2018Anna Marie Jones (née Wenger) was a native of San Bruno, born on October 26, 1935 and passed away on her 83rd birthday, October 26, 2018. She resided in San Bruno for over 75 years with her loving family. She was the cherished daughter of Marie and Fritz Wenger and was proud of her Swiss heritage. She was the devoted wife of Lee Jones (deceased), loving mother of Greg (deceased), Matthew (deceased), and Leanne (Arica), and doting "Grammy" of Davan. She was the devoted sister of Bill (deceased), Walt (Bene), and Fred (Bev) Wenger. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
She graduated from San Mateo High School, co-owned Sutro Super Market, worked at the San Bruno Park School District as a secretary, and retired as Office Manager at Parkside Junior High. Her extensive community involvement ranged from founding CCT, participating in San Bruno City Government, and supporting her children's' school activities.
Anna Marie was an avid Giants and Niners fan and was the two-olive-straight-up-martini hostess with the mostest. Everyone who was lucky enough to meet her walked away feeling loved.
A visitation will be held at Chapel of the Highlands, 194 Millwood Dr. Millbrae, on Sunday, 11/4, from 2-5P.M., and services will be held at St John's United Church, 480 San Anselmo, San Bruno on Monday, 11/5, at 11A.M. A graveside service will follow at Skylawn Memorial Park, HWY. 92 at CA-35 San Mateo. Reception will follow at the Elks Lodge in San Mateo, 229 W 20th Ave, San Mateo. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Northeastern & Central California & Northern Nevada (necannv.wish.org).
