Alice Fottrell

Faleceu

Alice Leta Fottrell 9/5/1936 - 10/13/2018 Alice Leta Fottrell (née Warfield) was born September 5th, 1936.? She passed away October 13th, 2018 at her home in Pleasanton, CA. Alice was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma and died peacefully, without pain, and surrounded by family.

Mourning her loss are her four children, Kathleen Deutsch (Miami, FL), Susan Sloatman (Nashville, TN), Michael Fottrell (Fairfax, CA) and Sean Fottrell (Oakland, CA), her grandchildren Jennifer and Nicolas Sloatman and Tenaya and Rowan Fottrell, and her Hawaiian family: brother Richard Pono Warfield and wife Kalei, their children Shannon, Hinano, Nalani, Keahi, and their daughters and sons.

Born in San Francisco, CA to Richard and Gertrude Warfield, Alice grew up in San Jose, was educated at Lincoln High School and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Stanford University, where she met Boyd Fottrell and fell in love. She and Boyd enjoyed international travel, attending world sporting events, golfing, cycling, and entertaining family and friends. They were married 57 years until Boyd's passing in 2015.

Alice created a rich home and life for her husband and four children, acting as the cornerstone on which her family was built and flourished. She was a tennis player, an avid reader, writer of short stories, baker of delectable treats, and organizer of wonderful family events. Alice was the heart and soul of her family.

Alice was a fierce advocate for her friends and family. She liked to brag that her children were gifted, but it is her children who feel truly gifted to have had her as their mother.
