Alfred Wiliam "billy" Cole

April 15, 1926 - September 29, 2018 Best known as Billy, Alfred William Cole passed away peacefully in his home in Encino, Calif., with his wife Sally at his side. He was 92 years old and had led a full and beautiful life. He was born in Cleveland, OH, to Sarah and Alfred Cole. He had an older sister "Cissy" and has a younger brother Jimmy, both of whom he loved and cherished. He leaves behind his wife of 63 years Sally, his son Mark Cole and partner Laura Ng, his daughter Susie Cole Rome and husband Jeffery Rome, and his three grandchildren, Joseph, Julian and Sophia, whom he loved beyond description. He grew up in East Orange, NJ, attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he was a member of the ZBT fraternity. He served in the Merchant Marines in the Second World War. He and his brother Jimmy drove across country to California in 1953 and never left. For over 40 years, he was a member of El Caballero Country Club, where he served on the Board and various committees and was an avid golf and gin player. He worked in the garment industry with pride for many years and retired at age 57. He will be missed and remembered with immense love. A memorial will be held on October 21 at 1:15pm at the home of Susie and Jeffery. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Planned Parenthood and/or the Jewish Federation of Los Angeles.
