Carmen Campana

Faleceu

August 30, 1928 - October 3, 2017
Today, we remember Carmen's passing from a year ago at age 89, while residing in Pasadena, California. Born to a large family in Peru, she always worked hard, loved learning, and caring for the well-being of others. She eventually immigrated to the U.S. with her husband and daughter, and settled in Los Angeles, California. In L.A., she studied English, completed her GED, and learned how to drive while working as a seamstress in downtown. She studied and became a Licensed Vocational Nurse, worked and retired from Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center, all the while caring for both her parents (until their passing) and raising her daughter and son. Carmen enjoyed: Mass at her local parish every Sunday, visiting and cheering her shut-in friends and neighbors, working in her large, flower and fruit-filled garden; before going off to work...she loved watching her soap operas (novelas) while either knitting baby blankets or sweaters, colorful adult booties (left-over yarn), or crocheting doilies of all shapes and sizes. Those who truly loved and knew Carmen will never forget her toughness, her generous nature, and the lessons she embodied all her life. Our consolation is that now she rests in peace and is surrounded by the Unconditional and Everlasting Love that she so richly deserves! Carmen is interred near her beloved parents, Laura Vadillo and Heriberto Vadillo, at Forest Lawn Glendale. Peggy Calvo and Ivan Campana, her children, wish to thank again every family member and family friend for their love and support at such a painful moment in their lives.
