Faleceu

December 18, 1928 - September 24, 2018 With great sadness we announce that Assad Nili Aram passed away peacefully September 24, 2018. He was at his home, surrounded by his cherished family. Assad was born December 18, 1928 in Tehran, Iran, to Ahmad Nili Aram and Khavar Davanloo. He attended Tehran University School of Dentistry, Georgetown University and the University of Minnesota. It was in Minnesota that he met the love of his life on a blind date, Helen Elizabeth Backus. They had a loving marriage of nearly 56 years and were blessed with their children, Lisa, Cathy and Cyrus. Family meant everything to Dr. Aram, and he was incredibly proud of his children, his sons and daughter-in-law, David Monetta, David Hughes and Tanya Aram, and their 9 grandchildren, Alexander, Zachary, Jacqueline, McKenna, Brandon, Natalie, Robert, Sarah and Taylor. Dr. Aram was a healthcare visionary and has many legacies including Deputy Minister of Health in Iran, he established the Iranian national emergency system that is still in place today and also developed the national insurance organization in Iran. Dr. Aram and his family moved to the United States in 1979 where he created the first of its kind multispecialty medical groups in Los Angeles. In 2013 he published his autobiography, Escape From Tehran. There's nothing that he cherished more than time with his family, playing cards or "doreh" with his buddies and tending to his fruit trees. His generous and kind spirit touched more lives than can be counted and anyone who knew him, could share their own story of how their world was changed by Dr. Aram. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Midnight Mission in Dr. Aram's memory: https://www.midnightmission.org
