Grandmother of six with a tender heart for cats
Doris F. Mattoon, 89, died Thursday, Aug. 30, 2018, in Freehold, N.J.
Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Lehrer-Gibilisco Funeral Home, 275 West Milton Ave., Rahway, N.J. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2018, from 4 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Interment is in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, N.J.
Doris was born in Bloomfield, N.J., and lived in Linden, N.J., for the past 61 years.
Mrs. Mattoon was a homemaker. She loved all cats, both indoor and outdoor.
She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Mattoon.
Mrs. Mattoon is survived by her daughters, Donna L. Gumann and her husband, Stephen, and Linda Mattoon-Resch and her husband, Charles. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Jamie and Lindsey Gumann, Michael, Steven, Georgette and Billy Resch.
