Ann Caroline (Harrison) Maas
1939-2018
Ann Caroline Harrison Maas, aged 79, passed away surrounded by her family after a brief struggle with brain cancer on Thursday, August 23, 2018. Ann was born July 1, 1939, in Selma, Alabama, to Henry Ford Harrison and Mary Grice Harrison. Ann married the love of her life, J. William "Bill" Maas, on August 30, 1958. They remained happily married for 41 years until Bill's death in 1999. Together they had a daughter, Susan, and a son, Robin. Ann and Bill moved to Houston in 1969 where they quickly became active members of Clear Lake Presbyterian Church. Ann worked for many years in the Clear Creek Independent School District, then at NASA and eventually started a 25+ year career as a realtor in the Clear Lake community. Ann made many life long friends through her church family, her neighbors and years as a realtor in the Clear Lake community but she especially cherished her role as "Grammy" to grandson, Gunnar. Ann is survived by: her son, Robin Maas (wife, Dedra, and son, Gunnar Maas); her daughter, Susan Maas Smith (husband, Ken, and Ken's sons, Alex Smith (wife, Dena), D. Keelan Smith and Andrew Smith); her sisters, Mary Harrison, Jean Wehr (husband, Rolf) and Patti Weems (husband, Bill); and her sister-in-law, Madolyn Mason (husband, Ron). Memorial Services will be held at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church on Monday, August 27th at 7:00 p.m.
