Arthur James Flynn Jr. Had 42-year career at Wyman Ford dealership Arthur James Flynn Jr. was born on Oct. 30, 1927, in Irvington, N.J., the son of Arthur James Flynn Sr. and Anna Augusta Behrman. Arthur passed away on July 21, 2018, at Kidron Bethel Village in North Newton, Kan. Arthur was the youngest of three children that included a brother, William Francis Flynn, and sister, Lois Ann Veltre, both of whom predeceased him. Arthur married Florence Jean Spennacchio on Feb. 19, 1949. They had three children, Arthur James Flynn III, (Janice) of Bowling Green, Mo.; Patricia Ann Flynn of Atlantic Beach, Fla., and Linda Peters (Rodney) of Hillsboro, Kan. He had eight grandchildren and six great- grandchildren. Florence passed away on Oct. 26, 1975. On June 16, 1980, Arthur married Elizabeth Tortoriello. Elizabeth had two daughters from a prior marriage, Carolyn Day and Allison Fiorino. Elizabeth passed away on Sept. 13, 2017. Arthur graduated from Irvington High School in 1945. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in January 1946, and served on Guam. He was honorably discharged in June 1947. In 1949, Arthur began a 42- year career at Wyman Ford in Maplewood, N.J. He started out in maintenance and eventually became the parts department manager. Arthur enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and bird watching. He was forever fascinated with mechanical things and the way they worked or were built. He was a lifelong New York Giants fan and also enjoyed NASCAR racing. Arthur enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family. There is no planned memorial service for Arthur. Family and friends will gather in New Jersey in July 2019, to spread his ashes according to his wishes.
