Amanda Brett Coward Of Poland, Maine, 1985-2018 Amanda Brett Coward, 32, of Poland, Maine, died on Monday, Aug. 20, 2018, at Bay State Medical Center in Springfield, Mass., due to injuries received in an automobile accident. Visitation will be held at the Albert & Burpee Funeral Home, 253 Pine St., Lewiston, Maine 04240, on Monday, Aug. 27, from 1 to 3 p.m., with a celebration of Amanda's life at 3 p.m. Born in Wayne, N.J., on Nov. 6, 1985, Amanda was the daughter of Diane Shnaider and stepfather, Dan Shnaider. Amanda was educated in New Jersey schools, and she was a graduate of Blair Academy, class of 2004. Amanda developed a life-long love of music and singing, and was a part of the Pompton Lakes High School Marching Band and the Blair Academy Singers. She also played softball at the academy. Later she attended Colgate University, where she belonged to Hillel International Club, and then graduated with her bachelor's and with honors from the Culinary Institute of America, class of '10, serving as vice president of her graduating class. Amanda enjoyed travel, and toured Israel with the Birthright Israel Foundation as a teenager, and later Europe with fellow students from CIA. She was a proud member of the Les Dom Escoffier and Chane des Rtisseurs, an international food and wine society. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Diane and Dan Shnaider of Poland, Maine.; two sisters, Jenn Lunt and husband, Kacey Leifer, and Callie Farish; a half-sister, Wendy Bennani, and four nephews, Kristopher, Noah, Jonah, and Nick Krastins.
