Cynthia DeWitt Bond (Age 89)  
Of Silver Spring, MD passed away peacefully of natural causes on August 11, 2018 at the Bedford Court Senior Center. The eldest daughter of James and Hazel DeWitt, she was born in Canton Ohio on November 10, 1928. She graduated from McKinley High School in Canton, Ohio. She attended Ward Belmont College (now Belmont University) in Nashville, Tennessee graduating in 1948. Following college she moved to Washington, DC where she met her husband, William M. Bond. They were married in 1957. Mrs. Bond was a long-time member of the Chevy Chase Women's Club, the Questers (an antique glass collecting club) and Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church. Cynthia was a lover of musical theater and an avid reader of literary mysteries. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother she is survived by her husband of 61 years; two sons: Bill Jr. (Ronda) of Myersville, MD and David of Washington, DC; two grandchildren, Joanne and Glen; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and younger sister, Ann. Services will be held at 11 a.m. September 15, 2018 at Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church.Donations In lieu of flowers to the Wilmer Eye Institute at John Hopkins University.
