March 30, 1928 - July 28, 2018 Barbara ("Barbie") passed away peacefully on July 28, 2018 at the age of 90. She was born on March 30, 1928 in Bertha, Minnesota, to the late Edward and Emma Rosenberg. Mr. Rosenberg married Clara Siegel on May 9, 1900 and this union was blessed with six children. After Clara's death in 1913, he married Emma Gaedke on December 30, 1918 and that union was blessed with eleven children (in total twelve daughters and five sons). Of the seventeen, Barbara was the last to pass away. After graduating from Bertha High School, Barbara moved to California and graduated with top honors as an airline hostess for TWA from the Marsha Toy Airlines School in Hollywood. Barbara was married to Albert Brewer Moore on February 16, 1952 and divorced in 1961. They had four sons: Albert Brewer Moore Jr., Thomas Roswell Moore (Susan), Gregory Stephen Moore (Sheree), and Christopher James Moore (Julie); eight grandchildren: Sarah (Brennan), Stephanie (Jeremy), Andrew, Katherine, Christina, Dylan, Taylor and Matthew; and four great-grandchildren from Sarah and Brennan: Finnley, Scarlett, Scout and Marlowe. Barbara was passionate about family, her faith and friends. As a single mom raising four boys, Barbara worked in various positions including payroll, professional babysitting and some modeling (she was always known as a natty dresser). She also received significant support from Milton and Julie Bruce and "Aunt Betty" and Tom Young. Barbara was baptized as a Catholic on Holy Saturday in 1956 in Los Angeles, California. She was a devout Catholic who loved Jesus with all her heart. She sang in her high school choir and the church choir for many years. She volunteered for over 20 years teaching Bible study at Los Padrinos (wards of the court) and took care of the elderly for nearly 50 years. Barbara was adventurous and loved to travel both in the United States and overseas including Africa, France, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico and Portugal. Barbara was also a fierce Scrabble player, completed numerous jigsaw puzzles, and enjoyed reading and movies. A memorial mass will be held on August 14th at 10:00 am at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 51 Marketplace, Irvine, California. Donations in lieu of flowers are welcome and can be made in Barbara's name to the building campaign at St. Thomas More.
