ADA JO CANTELE passed away in Houston TX Saturday August 4th, 2018. She was 87 years of age.
Ada Jo, or Jo as she was often called, was born in Houston TX on January 26th, 1931 to Velma Roberta and George Colquitt Pritchett. She was the oldest of 3 daughters. Her sisters Shirley and Roselle have preceded her to heaven. Ada Jo lived originally in Garden Oaks before the family moved to the Cypress Area where she attended and graduated from Cy-Fair High School in the class of 1948.
She briefly attended the University of Houston before meeting and marrying the love of her life, Louis J. Cantele. They were wed on June 14th, 1952 and had 3 sons; Louis John (deceased), Marc Pritchett (deceased) and Joseph Christopher.
Ada Jo spent the early years of her married life at Hot Wells, a former resort located in the Cypress area; which was owned by the family. Later she would take a secretarial position with Cameron Iron Works where she made many life long friends. She retired from Cameron in 1985 and began a catering business, which she loved dearly. Ada Jo was a friend to all as demonstrated by her many lifelong friendships.
As a member of Garden Oaks Baptist as a child, then Jersey Village Baptist and later Champions Forest Baptist, Ada Jo had a strong faith in the Lord and it brings comfort to her family to know that she now sits at the foot of the Lord, basking in His love.
She was survived by her youngest son Christopher and his wife Kimberley Anne of Houston, her precious grandchildren Caitlin Cantele, Emma Smith and her husband David, Jacob Cantele, Ashley Riddle and her husband Clayton, Bill Bassett, and AJ Cantele.
