BARBARA A. STARKIE  
Of Manassas, Virginia, was born on March 30, 1932 in Brooklyn, New York, to the late Irene Starkie and the late Edward Starkie, passed away at age 86 on June 1, 2018 in Manassas, Virginia. Barbara graduated from Hunter College with a BA in 1954. She joined the staff of a music magazine and met many legends of the Jazz era. She went to New York University and received an MS in education. She was a Teacher in Harlem, Manhattan, London, England and Stuttgart, Germany, a Realtor in Washington DC, and a Docent for the Library of Congress, Shakespeare Folger Theater and the Smithsonian. Barbara was a wife, companion and best friend to Joel Hiebert for almost 50 years. "Barbie will always be in my heart and mind, forever and ever." She is survived by many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and sister-in-law. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Shakespeare Folger Theater in Barbara's name is appreciated.
