WRIGHT, ALMERIA H. Almeria H. Wright , native of Tampa and a seventh generation member of the Lykes Family of Florida, passed away peacefully at her home on the Gulf of Mexico in Naples, on July 25, 2018. Mrs. Wright was 93 and had enjoyed a kind and loving life in Florida. Mrs. Wright attended Tampa schools, St. Mary's School at Raleigh, North Carolina, and Stevens College in Missouri. She was recognized for her generous support and investment in humanity by the Shriners. Hospitals for Children She was a long time member of the Junior League of Tampa, the League Club of Naples, St. Andrew's Episcopal Church of Tampa, and the Trinity-by-the-Cove Episcopal Church of Naples. Mrs. Wright was married to well-known Tampa and Florida business leader Parke Wright III in 1944 They remained happily married for 58 years until Mr. Wright passed away in 2001 in Naples. They enjoyed business leadership activities in Florida, especially in Tampa and Collier County. They also enjoyed extended travels to London, England, Europe and the Far East, enjoying especially Hong Kong and Kyoko, Japan. Mrs. Wright is survived by her son, John Parke Wright IV, and three granddaughters, Sarah, Antonia and Leila; five great grandchildren, and her sister, Helen Holmes of Cashiers, NC and Tampa, along with nephews, nieces and lots of cousins. Funeral services will be in Tampa, with a Family & Friends Visitation on Thursday, August 2, at Blount Curry Funeral Home, MacDill Avenue, 5-8 p.m. On Friday, August 3, a private morning interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, will be followed by a Family and Friends Mass and Service at St. Andrews Episcopal Church at 11 a.m.
