KANTER, ANITA died peacefully in Aventura on July 26, 2018 at the age of 99. Anita is survived by her son, Dr. Ronald Kanter; sister, Betty Rosencranz; nieces, Harriett Gussin, Susan Black, and Sharon Black; nephews, Richard Solloway and David Black; and many, many cousins. She is preceded in death by her husband Herbert Kanter; father, Herman Nathan; mother, Adeline Kanter; and sister, Beatrice Gordon. Anita was born on March 23, 1919 in Amsterdam, New York. She married Herbert shortly after moving to Miami from Chicago. Anita and Herbert gave birth to their son, Ron, in 1953. Every one whose lives Anita touched remember her as a kind, loving, and eternally happy soul. Anita worked at Southern Bell for many years and later was in the banking business. In her later years, she volunteered her time to help vision-impaired persons read. She was an active and dedicated member of Beth Moshe, and, later, Beth Torah Congregations. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 29th at 2:30pm at Lakeside Memorial Park; 10301 NW 25th Street, Miami, FL 33172, with reception to follow at her home in North Miami Beach. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Anita's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society ("PACES") or American Friends of ALYN Hospital.
