1938 ~ 2018
Annette (Mason) Swenson was born on December 20, 1938, in Ogden, Utah, to Fred and Mabel Mason.
She passed on July 22, 2018, after a long and debilitating bout with cancer, which eventually weakened her heart and lungs. She suffered from other health issues as well.
Annette was known for her generosity, infectious laugh, gracious manner, attention to detail, quick wit and keen sense of humor. She handled life's heartbreaks and difficulties with grace, elegance, and poise.
Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family members and any friend in need.
Her home was spotless, welcoming, and comfortable. One of her many talents was hosting fun and memorable get-togethers.
Annette graduated from Ogden High School in 1957. She was awarded a full scholarship to Weber Junior College because of her excellent grades and business skills. She was a member of the Otyokwa Social Club. She was elected to the position of Vice President of Weber's Women's Association.
Annette was employed at the Williams Companies in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she held the title of Senior Executive Assistant. She was respected and admired for her beautiful style, organizational skills, and professionalism. She served as Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee of the Executive Women International (EWI). She retired after many years of employment in 1996.
Annette will be sorely missed by her daughter, Julie (Swenson) Wilkes (Ken Wilkes) and daughter, Sally Swenson (Allison Dudo); two granddaughters, Kaci (Wakeman) Allen (Whitney Allen), and Emily Wakeman (Logan Crayk); her sister, Sally (Mason) German (Dr. Wilbur Birchler); two nephews, Joseph and Maxwell German (Stacy German), their daughters, Sydney and Makenna German; her niece, Jeanne Duggins (Christopher Duggins), and their daughters Bryce and Bristol Duggins.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, grand nephew, Zachary Mason German, and her long-time companion, Lt Colonel Vern Welling, (USAF Ret).
In keeping with her unselfish and generous spirit, and because of her many health issues, she has donated her body to the University of Utah Research Center in the hope that answers may be found for others suffering from similar diseases.
Annette was devoted to Christianity and to her family and friends.
