Anita Leach Rahway mother and grandmother who had 'sharp memory and witty humor' Anita Leach (nee Bianchi), born in Paterson, N.J., passed away Saturday, July 21, 2018. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Friday, July 27, 2018, from 10 a.m. til the start of the funeral service at 12 noon, at the Pettit-Davis Funeral Home, 371 W. Milton Ave., Rahway, N.J. Interment is at Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa, N.J. In her early years, Anita worked for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. After World War II ended, she married Eugene R. Leach, and they settled down to raise their three children in Pompton Lakes, N.J. She became a stay-at-home mom while augmenting the family income by selling Avon and Fuller Brush door to door. She was active with the American Legion Post 235 and was a past president of the women's auxiliary. In 1974, the family moved to Rahway. She raised her grandson, James E. Leach, who always held a special place in her heart. They enjoyed many wonderful day trips to the beach, and she remembered these times as her favorite part of her life. Above all, she loved her family and always put their needs before her own. After her husband passed away in 2001, she became involved with the Golden Age Senior Group. She served as the vice-president for many years. During meetings, she was frequently seen collecting change for her favorite charity, "Food for Friends." Wife of the late Eugene R. Leach, she was predeceased by her sister, Matilda Grandi, brother, Charles Bianchi, and daughter-in-law, Wanda Leach. Left to cherish her sharp memory and witty humor are her three children, Eugene C. Leach; James Leach, and her daughter, Anita Masiello (John). She will be forever missed by her grandsons, John J. Masiello II (Carrie); James E. Leach; Graeme Leach; Christopher Leach (Adelina); David H. Masiello (fiancee, Tiffany); Joseph E. Masiello, Esq.; Jack Leach and Jerry Leach. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.
