April 8, 1922 - March 8, 2018 Barbara Marie Merrill, née Parsons, earned her accounting degree from the University of California at Berkeley. After graduating, she married Ray Merrill and raised three children, as well as stepson Ray Carpenter. After a career at the IRS, she retired and greatly enjoyed reading while dividing her time between family, friends, church and her pets. She is survived by her three children, Paul, John and Melinda, as well as her six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was 95 years old. A memorial service was held for close family and friends on Tuesday, March 13 at 12 PM at Mountain View Cemetery, 2400 North Fair Oaks Ave., Altadena 91001, followed by a reception.
